Hey Sands, did you know The 2023-24 school year marks Sands Secondary’s 50th Anniversary !
We are excited to welcome past and present students and staff to celebrate this momentous occasion.
As a school community, we will be hosting a celebration on Friday, May 3rd from 4:00pm to 7:00pm that will include food, performances, photos, tours, an Alumni Volleyball game, cake and much, much more.
We encourage our community and alumni to join us on May 3rd to connect with former friends and staff, walk down memory lane and to celebrate our school.
Please spread the word about this celebration and we hope to see many of you in attendance.
Due to the early dismissal today, there will be No JIU JITSU CLUB.
We will meet next Friday (April 26th) after school.
Students planning on taking a GR. 10, 11, OR 12 ACADEMIC CORE COURSE THIS SUMMER.
Online Registration is on the SD37 website will open on April 22nd at 10:00 AM until June 27 at 2:00 PM.
Classes will be at North Delta Secondary from July 2nd to August 2nd – Monday to Friday.
To discuss if Summer School is required or is the best option for you, come talk to Mr. Abernethy or Ms. Diomis
and students in Grade 8 or 9: if you are not successful in completing a GRADE 8 OR 9 CORE ACADEMIC COURSE and you are planning on summer school, please know that you are unable to register yourself, you must have your school counsellor register you, please come talk to Mr. Abernethy or Ms. Diomis
SCHOLARSHIP SPOTLIGHT Sands grads, here is another opportunity for you! If you will be continuing your post secondary education in Culinary Arts OR in a Business Program AND have demonstrated good citizenship, the Canual Caterers/Compass Vending scholarship could be yours! Full details on how to apply are in the 2024 Sands Community Scholarship package sent to your deltalearns email or see Ms. Sansregret in the Career Centre. Apply by May 8.
