As we head into March, no doubt we see Spring Break quickly approaching! Before we look too far ahead, it's important to pause and reflect on some of the tremendous opportunities that have taken place at Sands over the last little while. All six of our basketball teams have now concluded their seasons. While they did not go on to capture championships, our student athletes competed night in and night out. In the process, they displayed tremendous sportsmanship and learned valuable lessons about commitment, dedication and hardwork. Thank you to our teacher coaches, Mr. Prahalad, Ms. Vivieros, Mr. Gaull, Ms. Taylor, Mr. Marks and Ms. Blouin for coaching and mentoring our student athletes.

Many of our Grade 12 students participated in and contributed to a very successful Grad Fashion Show earlier in the month. Click here to view a short video of highlights from the evening. Thank you to Mr. Malo for sponsoring this event.

February 25th was Pink Shirt Day in support of anti-bullying. The school was a sea of pink as hundreds of students wore pink to demonstrate their commitment to anti-bullying. View images from #PinkShirtDay here.

February 27th and 28th saw over 125 students participate in the 30-hr Famine event at the school. Students from Grades 8 - 12  played games, sports and shared great conversations throughout the night as they raised money for a worthy cause.  Spearheaded by Mr. Gaull, Mr. Karila, Ms. Blouin, Ms. Harrison and Mr. Sharpe, 20 staff members came out to support the students and participate in the fun with the students!
