Post-Secondary Night

Sands will be hosting a Post-Secondary/Scholarship Night for grade 12 parents and students on Tuesday, October 25th at 6:30pm.  The evening will focus on the post-secondary admission process, and how to prepare for scholarships.

Visit by Fast Eddy

Fast Eddy will be returning to Sands on Wednesday, October 26. Eddy ran across Canada and back, completely alone and unsupported – 21,000 kilometres! He began his journey on March 1, 2015 in Victoria, BC, and will end his run there on October 29, 2016. Eddy ran with the idea that “average people can do above average things,” raising funds in support of Alzheimer’s and Cancer research. On Wednesday, students will throw him the homecoming he deserves – a special assembly, slide show and party – to show Fast Eddy that he has succeeded in inspiring others!

Youth Corps

Community Schools Partnership (CSP) is very excited to introduce the Youth Corps club to Sands Secondary. The club is welcome to all students interested in getting involved in their local community and great for students who need volunteer hours. CSP programs are run by staff and volunteers who lead various activities at Elementary schools in the Delta School District. Activities may include: Art Attack, Homework Helpers, Dance, and more programs run by Parks and Recreation Delta. This program will hopefully begin at the end of October, once a week for 5 weeks total. If you are a motivated and enthusiastic individual and want to get involved with your community, please attend a meeting at lunchtime on Nov 2.

Grade 12 Parent Night

Grade 12 parents who were unable to attend the Parent Information Evening on Monday, October 3rd can learn more about the graduation program, grad transitions and grad events by viewing the slideshow below.
