URGENT - Attention Grade 10 & 11 parents!  Did you know that the annual Dry Grad event that takes place on graduation night for the students of Burnsview, ND, Delview and Sands, is organized by grade 10 & 11 parents?

Dry Grad takes place at the North Delta Recreation Centre after each school’s dinner and dance, starting at 11:30 pm Friday night and running until 5:00 am Saturday morning.  More information is available under the "Grad 2016" tab on the Sands website.

We are in need of many more grade 10 & 11 parents for this to be a successful event for our graduates.  In particular, we need parents from 1 pm on Fri May, 27 right up to Sat morning, May 28 at 8 am.  Please contact Teji Johal directly at or 604-588-0066.  We really need YOUR help!

A Powerful Message from Greg Drew

On Tuesday, May 10, Greg Drew visited Sands. Greg, a retired firefighter, lost his son in a tragic car accident a number of years ago. Greg spoke to Grade 11 and 12 students and emphasized to them the importance of making safe, wise decisions related to driving. In an emotional plea, Greg urged each student to be a R.A.T.T. (Responsible, Adult, Thinking, Teenager)

  • On Friday, May 13, the Boys' Ice Hockey Team defeated the Magee Lions 6-2 to capture the Tier 3 BC High School Hockey League Championship! Congratulations to the team and coaches Mr. Marks and Mr. Campbell!
