Student Registration for the 2017-18 School Year

Sands Secondary and the Delta School District are pleased to accept applications from families and students residing within and outside of Delta. Please visit the School District Website for details and applications forms.

Parent Information Evenings

Parents and students are invited to attend Information Evenings regarding student registration, course selection, the revised curriculum and post-secondary.

Thursday, February 2 (6pm): Grade 9-12 Parent Night (students entering Grades 9-12 in September 2017)

Parents whose child is entering Grade 8 in September and were unable to attend our Parent Information Evening on Jan 18th are encouraged to view the slide show below.

Homework Club

Every Wednesday and Thursday from 3:00 -4:00 pm in the Library, Sands is offering a Homework Club to students. Homework Club is a voluntary teacher-supervised environment where students can receive support, catchup on outstanding assignments and drop in to do homework. Students from the Math Leadership program are present to assist students with their learning. Students also have the opportunity to use computers for the purpose of learning. There is no charge to attend Homework Club. All students are welcome to attend. 


I.D.E.A.'s - Friday Youth Drop-In

Inspired by Grade 12 students Sonum R, Yajya R and Leah W, Sands is pleased to introduce a new afterschool drop-in recreation program that is held every Friday from 3:00 - 5:30pm. Students can come and play games, table tennis, video games and more or simply hang out with friends. We also look forward to hosting some movie events in the future.  Admission is FREE! All students are invited to come out to the next IDEA's Drop-in on January 27. Watch the video below to see what's been happening at I.D.E.A.'s!

Blood Drive

Students at Sands Secondary School are organizing group appointments for blood donation at North Delta Secondary School (11447 82nd Avenue, Delta BC) on Sunday, April 2nd 2017. Students, parents, and friends that are eligible are able to book an appointment. We currently have the following times available, with volumes of 4 at a time.

  • 11am
  • 12pm
  • 1pm

More appointments will be added and updated if necessary. 


It takes each person about 1 hour and 15 minutes to donate. Each donor donates about 450 mL of blood. They are eligible to donate again after 56 days as that is when their iron and red blood cells are regenerated.

Please check our website to make sure that you are eligible to donate, or else you will not be able to

 Please bring valid ID (Go-Card is fine), and hydrate very well and eat something substantial before coming in to donate.
