Term 2 Report Cards
Report Cards were posted on Student & Parent Connect on Thurs, Mar 9.
Every Wednesday and Thursday from 3:00 - 4:00 pm in the Library, Sands is offering a Homework Club to students. Homework Club is a voluntary teacher-supervised environment where students can receive support, catchup on outstanding assignments and drop in to do homework. Students also have the opportunity to use computers for the purpose of learning. There is no charge to attend Homework Club. All students are welcome to attend.
Weekend Math Tutorial Sessions
Sands Leadership students will be hosting Math tutorial sessions each Saturday in April from 10:30am - 12:30pm. The first tutorial session is scheduled for April 1st. All students are invited to attend. There is no cost for these tutorials. If you are interested in attending, please contact Mr. Randhawa.
I.D.E.A.'s - Friday Youth Drop-In
Inspired by Grade 12 students Sonum R, Yajya R and Leah W, Sands is pleased to introduce a new afterschool drop-in recreation program that is held every Friday from 3:00 - 5:30pm. Students can come and play games, table tennis, video games and more or simply hang out with friends. We also look forward to hosting some movie events in the future. Admission is FREE! All students are invited to come out to future dates of IDEA's Drop-in on March 31, April 7, 21 & 28. Watch the video below to see what's been happening at I.D.E.A.'s!
Students at Sands Secondary School are organizing group appointments for blood donation at North Delta Secondary School (11447 82nd Avenue, Delta BC) on Sunday, April 2nd 2017. Students, parents, and friends that are eligible are able to book an appointment. We currently have the following times available, with volumes of 4 at a time.
More appointments will be added and updated if necessary.
It takes each person about 1 hour and 15 minutes to donate. Each donor donates about 450 mL of blood. They are eligible to donate again after 56 days as that is when their iron and red blood cells are regenerated.
Please check our website to make sure that you are eligible to donate.
Please bring valid ID (Go-Card is fine), and hydrate very well and eat something substantial before coming in to donate.
